Description

A delicious recipe for Sweet and Sticky Steak Bites that are easy to prepare and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g (1 lb) sirloin or flank steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, season the steak bites with salt and pepper, and toss with cornstarch to lightly coat each piece.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add half the steak bites and sear for about 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Repeat with remaining meat. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Add garlic (and ginger if using), and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Add soy sauce and honey (or brown sugar). Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the steak bites to the pan and toss them in the sticky glaze until fully coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot over rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the steak bites in the soy sauce and honey for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Adjust the sweetness by using more or less honey/brown sugar according to your taste.
  • These steak bites can be served as an appetizer or a main dish.
