Delicious Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, seasoned with a blend of spices and served hot.
Ingredients

- 1 pound chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup sweet potato flour
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon five spice powder
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine chicken, garlic, soy sauce, five spice powder, white pepper, and salt. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix sweet potato flour and rice flour.
- Coat marinated chicken pieces in the flour mixture.
- Heat the oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra crunch, let the coated chicken rest for 10 minutes before frying.
- Serve with basil leaves for added flavor.
