Description

A delicious combination of tender steak and crispy fried plantains cooked in savory tallow.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe plantains
  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 1 cup beef tallow
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Peel the plantains and slice them diagonally into thick pieces.
  2. Heat beef tallow in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Season the flank steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Cook the steak in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  5. Remove the steak and let it rest before slicing.
  6. In the same skillet, add the plantain slices and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Remove the plantains and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve the sliced steak with the tallow-fried plantains on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
  • Ensure the tallow is hot enough before frying the plantains for a crispy texture.
