Description

A creamy and flavorful mashed potato dish with a kick of horseradish and a crispy breadcrumb topping.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes, then boil them until tender.
  2. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  3. Add butter, milk, horseradish, salt, and pepper to the potatoes and mash until creamy.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish.
  6. In a bowl, mix bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese together, then sprinkle over the mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, increase the amount of horseradish.
  • Can be made a day in advance; just bake before serving.
