Description

A delicious traditional Albanian dish featuring tender lamb baked with a creamy yogurt sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lamb shoulder, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 bay leaf


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large baking dish, combine lamb pieces, onions, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and bay leaf. Mix well.
  3. Spread the yogurt over the lamb mixture evenly.
  4. Cover with foil and bake for 1.5 hours.
  5. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes until the lamb is tender and golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes.
