- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sliced almonds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly, then whisk in the eggs and vanilla.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, folding in the sliced almonds.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use almond extract in addition to vanilla.
