- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package of empanada dough circles
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the onion, garlic, and red bell pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Stir in cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a clean surface, place an empanada dough circle and add a spoonful of the beef mixture to the center.
- Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and crimp the edges to seal.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
