Description

A festive and delicious appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry and rich basil pesto.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 1 cup basil pesto
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Spread a layer of basil pesto over the pastry.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the pesto.
  5. Cut the second sheet of pastry into star shapes and arrange on top.
  6. Brush the edges with beaten egg and sprinkle with Parmesan, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
