Description

A delicious and easy twist on the classic Beef Wellington, these turnovers are perfect for a quick meal or entertaining guests.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 package puff pastry sheets
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook until moisture evaporates.
  4. Stir in ground beef, thyme, salt, and pepper, cooking until beef is browned.
  5. Remove from heat and mix in cream cheese.
  6. Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares.
  7. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture on each square.
  8. Fold pastry over and seal edges.
  9. Brush with beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can include some Dijon mustard in the beef mixture.
  • These turnovers can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
