- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1 package puff pastry sheets
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add mushrooms and cook until moisture evaporates.
- Stir in ground beef, thyme, salt, and pepper, cooking until beef is browned.
- Remove from heat and mix in cream cheese.
- Roll out puff pastry and cut into squares.
- Place a spoonful of the beef mixture on each square.
- Fold pastry over and seal edges.
- Brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can include some Dijon mustard in the beef mixture.
- These turnovers can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
