Description

Deliciously crispy potato pancakes, also known as Draniki, are a traditional Belarusian dish that everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups grated potatoes
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix grated potatoes, onion, egg, flour, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Drop a spoonful of the potato mixture into the hot oil, flattening it slightly.
  4. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.

  • Serve with sour cream or applesauce for added flavor.
