Description

A deliciously rich and moist babka filled with blueberry cream cheese and topped with a sweet crumb topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing flour, yeast, sugar, salt, milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  3. Prepare filling by mixing softened cream cheese and blueberries until combined.
  4. Roll out the dough and spread the filling over it, then roll it up tightly and slice it into pieces.
  5. Twist the pieces and place in a loaf pan, then let them rise again.
  6. Bake until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Allow to cool, then drizzle with powdered sugar icing.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easy spreading.
  • For a sweeter touch, add more sugar to the cream cheese filling if desired.
