Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly, then insert sticks into the tops.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Continue boiling until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring, vanilla extract, and salt.
  5. Dip each apple into the candy mixture, coating thoroughly, and allow excess to drip off.
  6. Place coated apples on a greased wax paper to cool and harden.
