Ingredients

- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat.
- Stir continuously until the mixture thickens and begins to boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- In another saucepan, melt butter and add water and sugar, cooking until caramelized.
- Combine the caramel with the pudding mix and stir well.
- Pour into serving dishes and let cool before serving.
Notes
- Allow the pudding to set in the fridge for a couple of hours for best texture.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce on top before serving if desired.
