Description

A rich and indulgent dessert that combines layers of flaky baklava and creamy hazelnut chocolate.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups chopped hazelnuts
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix hazelnuts, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Lay down a sheet of phyllo dough and brush with butter.
  4. Repeat with several layers, adding the nut mixture.
  5. Spread chocolate hazelnut spread, then layer more phyllo and nut mixture.
  6. Finish with more phyllo and cut into diamond shapes.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden.
  8. In a saucepan, combine honey, water, and vanilla; bring to a boil.
  9. Pour syrup over baklava while still hot.
  10. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
