Description

Deliciously soft brioches filled with vanilla custard and chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup vanilla custard


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to the yeast mixture.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients and knead until smooth.
  5. Let dough rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Shape dough into balls and stuff with vanilla custard and chocolate chips.
  8. Place on baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use milk instead of water for the yeast mixture.
