Description

Deliciously light and festive, these Christmas Tree Meringues are a delightful treat for the holidays!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • green food coloring (as needed)
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean bowl, whip the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add the granulated sugar while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold in the vanilla and peppermint extracts.
  5. Add the green food coloring until desired shade is achieved.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet in a tree shape.
  7. Sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top for decorations.
  8. Bake for 1.5 hours or until the meringues are dry and can easily lift off the parchment.
  9. Let cool completely before serving.
