Description

Deliciously sweet and satisfying, these Cinnamon Date Rolls make a perfect treat for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, soak the pitted dates in warm water for about 10 minutes until soft.
  3. Drain the dates and mash them with a fork.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add melted butter, vanilla extract, and the mashed dates. Mix until a dough forms.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread a layer of additional cinnamon and sugar on top, then sprinkle with walnuts if using.
  8. Roll the dough tightly, then slice into rolls.
  9. Place rolls on a greased baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
