- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, matcha powder, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- In a separate bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and egg.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and spread melted butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar over it.
- Roll the dough into a log and cut into equal pieces.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
- For the icing, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle icing over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- For a unique flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg.
- These rolls can be frozen before baking; just let them rise again after thawing.
