Description
This Cozy Ube Milk Bread uses the tangzhong method for a soft and fluffy texture, infused with the vibrant flavor of ube.

- 1/4 cup ube puree
- 2 cups bread flour
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Prepare the tangzhong by cooking flour and water in a saucepan over low heat until thickened. Remove and let cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine bread flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add the cooled tangzhong, ube puree, warm milk, and softened butter. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough, then shape it into a loaf.
- Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan and let it rise again until it puffs up, about 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Using fresh ube puree enhances the flavor.
- Storage: Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For a sweeter flavor, add more sugar as desired.
