Description

A delicious and easy recipe for making sweet tofu pockets filled with sushi rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 pieces inari sushi pockets (sweet tofu pockets)
  • optional sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water, and bring to a boil. Then, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 18 minutes.
  3. While the rice is cooking, mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, remove it from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes. Fluff the rice and stir in the vinegar mixture.
  5. Allow the rice to cool to room temperature.
  6. Carefully open the inari pockets and fill each with sushi rice, packing it gently.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired and serve.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding vegetables or protein to the rice filling.
  • The rice mixture can be made a day ahead for convenience.
