Description
Delicious homemade salted caramel pop tart bars with a flaky crust and a rich filling.
Ingredients

- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt until crumbly.
- Add the egg and mix until a dough forms.
- Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the caramel sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle sea salt over the caramel layer.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the caramel.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough.
