Description

Delicious homemade salted caramel pop tart bars with a flaky crust and a rich filling.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt until crumbly.
  3. Add the egg and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spread the caramel sauce evenly over the dough.
  6. Sprinkle sea salt over the caramel layer.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the caramel.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the dough.
