Description

A rich and creamy dessert inspired by the classic espresso martini cocktail.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 egg whites


Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
  2. Slowly add the cooled espresso and coffee liqueur, stirring until combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold into the espresso mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, gently fold into the mousse mix.
  5. Divide the mousse into serving dishes and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  6. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with coffee beans if desired.
