Description

A creamy and cheesy baked macaroni dish topped with a crunchy breadcrumb topping.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened.
  5. Add the cheeses to the sauce and stir until melted.
  6. Combine the sauce with the drained macaroni and mix well.
  7. Transfer to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add cooked pancetta or bacon.
