Description

A delicious French dessert, Flaugnarde is a custard-like dish made with strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar for dusting, optional


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Spread the strawberries in the baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the flour and salt; whisk until combined.
  6. Pour the batter over the strawberries.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until puffed and golden.
  8. Let cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
