Description

A classic British dish, Gordon Ramsay’s Scotch Eggs are a flavorful mix of seasoned sausage meat wrapped around a perfectly boiled egg, breaded and fried to golden perfection.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs
  • 400g sausage meat
  • 100g breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 large egg, beaten
  • vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Hard boil the eggs, then cool them in ice water.
  2. Peel the eggs and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix the sausage meat with mustard powder, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  4. Take a portion of sausage mix and flatten it in your palm, add an egg and wrap the sausage around it.
  5. Coat the sausage-wrapped egg in flour, dip in beaten egg, then roll in breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat the oil in a deep pan and fry the Scotch eggs until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with mustard or a dipping sauce of your choice.
  • These can be enjoyed hot or cold, making them perfect for picnics.
