Description
A delightful and spooky treat perfect for Halloween, featuring baked Brie cheese wrapped in puff pastry with a bloody raspberry preserve topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces of Brie cheese
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1/4 cup of raspberry preserves
- 1 tablespoon of fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Crackers or sliced baguette for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to smooth it out.
- Place the Brie cheese in the center of the puff pastry.
- Drizzle the honey over the Brie, then spread the raspberry preserves on top.
- Sprinkle the chopped rosemary over the preserves and season with salt and pepper.
- Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the Brie, sealing it completely. Trim any excess pastry if necessary.
- Place the wrapped Brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baked.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving. The cheese will be hot and gooey inside.
Notes
- For a spooky twist, add a few drops of red food coloring to the raspberry preserves before spreading it on the Brie.
- For a savory variation, try adding caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms inside the pastry with the cheese.
