Description

A delightful and fragrant jelly made from hibiscus flowers, infused with rose, lemon, and vanilla flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups hibiscus flowers
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 packet pectin

Instructions

  1. In a pot, combine hibiscus flowers and water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain the liquid to remove flowers and return to pot.
  3. Add sugar, lemon juice, rose water, and vanilla extract. Stir to dissolve sugar.
  4. Once dissolved, add pectin and bring to a rolling boil for 1 minute.
  5. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
  6. Let cool and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Great as a spread on toast or as an ingredient in desserts.
  • Check consistency; for a thicker jelly, add more pectin.
  • Use fresh hibiscus for the best flavor.
