Description

A delicious mint chocolate dessert that captures the essence of Andes mints at home.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup green mint chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips and butter together in a double boiler.
  2. Once melted, pour into a greased 9×9 inch pan and spread evenly.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the mint chocolate chips, powdered sugar, peppermint extract, and salt until smooth.
  4. Spread the mint mixture over the cooled chocolate layer.
  5. Melt the remaining chocolate chips and pour over the mint layer, spreading evenly.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator until set, then cut into squares.

Notes

  • For a stronger mint flavor, increase the amount of peppermint extract.
  • These mints can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
