Description

- 2 pounds lamb shoulder, cut into chunks
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until translucent.
- Add garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Add lamb chunks and brown on all sides.
- Sprinkle with cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, and salt. Stir to coat the lamb.
- Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 1.5 hours, or until the lamb is tender.
- Stir in yogurt and cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring gently to avoid curdling.
- Serve hot with rice or bread.

- For best results, use good quality yogurt to achieve a creamy texture.
