Description
Leche Frita is a delicious Spanish dessert made from milk, sugar, and flour, then fried until golden and crispy.
Ingredients

- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- oil for frying
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the milk and sugar. Heat until warm.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, and egg yolks. Gradually add the warm milk mixture to this bowl.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Once thick, pour the mixture into a greased dish and allow to cool completely.
- Cut into squares and dredge in flour.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the squares until golden brown.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.
Notes
- Allow the mixture to cool completely before cutting for best results.
- Can be served warm or chilled.
