Description

Leche Frita is a delicious Spanish dessert made from milk, sugar, and flour, then fried until golden and crispy.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • oil for frying


Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the milk and sugar. Heat until warm.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, and egg yolks. Gradually add the warm milk mixture to this bowl.
  3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  4. Once thick, pour the mixture into a greased dish and allow to cool completely.
  5. Cut into squares and dredge in flour.
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the squares until golden brown.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.

  • Allow the mixture to cool completely before cutting for best results.
