Description

A tangy and spicy jam that pairs beautifully with various dishes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups lemons, juiced and zested
  • 2 cups fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 cups red chili peppers, chopped
  • 6 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 packet fruit pectin


Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the lemon juice, zest, ginger, chili peppers, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Bring the mixture back to a boil.
  3. Add the pectin and boil for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.
  5. Allow to cool and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • For a spicier jam, leave the seeds in some of the chili peppers.
  • This jam can be served with grilled meats or as a spread on bread.
