Description

Deliciously crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, mashed potato balls are the perfect comfort food appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • oil for frying


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  4. Fry the potato balls until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add chopped chives or bacon bits to the mixture.
  • These can be made ahead of time and frozen before frying.
