Description

This No-Knead Turkish Bread is an easy and delicious way to enjoy homemade bread with minimal effort.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 2 cups warm water


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and stir until combined. The dough will be sticky.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise for 12 to 18 hours at room temperature.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a cast-iron skillet or Dutch oven inside to heat.
  5. While the oven is heating, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  6. Once the oven is hot, carefully remove the pot and place the dough inside, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

  • The longer the dough rests, the better the flavor will be.
  • For a crustier bread, you can bake it without the lid for the last 10 minutes.
