Description

A rich and savory dish featuring tender short ribs glazed with a deep obsidian sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds short ribs
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons scallions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Place the short ribs in a large baking dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 3 hours until the ribs are tender.
  5. Remove the foil, increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C), and bake for an additional 30 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
  6. Garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, marinate the short ribs overnight.
  • Serve with steamed rice or mashed potatoes to soak up the glaze.
