Deliciously fluffy morning buns flavored with orange zest and cardamom, perfect for breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp ground cardamom
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup icing sugar
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter and eggs, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, cardamom, and orange zest.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, kneading until smooth.
- Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and spread with brown sugar and a sprinkle of cardamom.
- Roll the dough and cut into buns, placing them in a baking dish.
- Let rise for another 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly and drizzle icing on top before serving.
Notes
- For an extra citrus kick, add a little orange juice to the icing.
- These buns are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container.
