Description

Delicious homemade peanut butter eggs perfect for Easter treats!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon shortening


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Shape the mixture into egg shapes and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Refrigerate the eggs for about 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt chocolate chips with shortening in a microwave or double boiler.
  5. Dip each peanut butter egg in melted chocolate, coating completely.
  6. Place the coated eggs back on the baking sheet and refrigerate until the chocolate is set.

Notes

  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • Optional: Add a sprinkle of sea salt on the chocolate before it sets for added flavor.
