Description

A delightful cake filled with the flavors of lavender and Earl Grey tea, perfect for a refreshing dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves
  • 2 tablespoons culinary lavender
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and mix until combined.
  5. In another bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, tea leaves, and lavender.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea leaves in the milk for 30 minutes before adding.
  • This cake pairs beautifully with a lavender-infused frosting.
