Ingredients

- 1 cup purple sweet potato, mashed
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the mashed purple sweet potato with water, sugar, and olive oil.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for about 4 hours or until doubled in size.
- Shape the dough into buns and place them on a baking sheet.
- Let the buns rise again for 1-2 hours.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Ensure the purple sweet potato is fully cooked and mashed smoothly for better incorporation.
- These buns can be frozen after baking for later use.
