Description

Delicious and festive reindeer-shaped cookies perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup red candy noses (e.g. M&M’s)
  • 1 cup pretzel twists, for antlers


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, shaping them into reindeer heads.
  7. Press two pretzel twists into the top of each cookie for antlers.
  8. Place a red candy nose on each cookie.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • For added decoration, use icing to add eyes and a mouth.
