- 1 cup dark brown sugar

- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup whiskey
- 5 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a bowl, mix the dried fruit with whiskey and let it soak for a few hours.
- Cream the butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Add the soaked fruit and mix to combine.
- Sift the flour, spices, and baking powder, then fold into the mixture.
- Add milk to achieve the desired consistency.
- Pour the batter into a prepared cake tin.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours or until a skewer comes out clean.
- Let cool before serving.
