Description
A traditional Romanian dish made with cornmeal, topped with cheese and sour cream.
Ingredients

- 2 cups cornmeal
- 6 cups water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cheese (e.g. feta or telemea)
- 1 cup sour cream
Instructions
- Bring water and salt to a boil in a large pot.
- Gradually whisk in the cornmeal, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- Cook on low heat for about 20-30 minutes, stirring frequently until thickened.
- Pour the polenta into a serving dish and let it cool slightly.
- Top with crumbled cheese and dollops of sour cream before serving.
Notes
- Polenta can be served soft or allowed to cool and sliced.
- For extra flavor, you can add herbs or spices to the polenta while cooking.
