Description

This decadent Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart features a rich chocolate filling, layered with creamy salted caramel, and is encased in a buttery tart crust. Perfect for special occasions!


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp ice water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add egg yolk and ice water, mixing until dough forms. Press into a tart pan.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool.
  5. In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Cook over medium heat until smooth. Stir in heavy cream, chocolate chips, vanilla, and sea salt until melted and combined.
  6. Pour the chocolate filling over the cooled tart shell.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.

Notes

  • Let the tart sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before slicing for easier serving.
  • Top with additional sea salt for extra flavor.
