Description

Seoul Bulgogi Rice Burgers are a delicious Korean twist on traditional burgers, featuring flavorful beef patties and rice patties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup sliced cucumbers
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of American cheese (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the rice. In a separate bowl, mix the cooked jasmine rice with chopped green onions and shredded carrots.
  5. To assemble the burgers, take a portion of the rice mixture and form it into a patty shape. You should have 4 rice patties.
  6. Place a rice patty on a plate, add a beef patty on top, and layer with lettuce, sliced cucumbers, and sesame seeds.
  7. Top with another rice patty to complete the burger. Repeat for the remaining servings.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add gochujang (Korean chili paste) to the beef mixture.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option, adjusting cooking times as necessary.
