Description
A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich featuring smoked Gouda and apple slices.
Ingredients

- 2 slices whole grain bread
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 ounces smoked Gouda cheese, sliced
- 1/2 apple, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
- Add smoked Gouda cheese on top of the bread.
- Layer apple slices over the cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Cook until the first side is golden brown, then flip and cook until the second side is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon on the apples.
- Pair with a side of tomato soup for dipping.
