Spanish Fried Milk is a delightful dessert made from creamy milk, sugar, and a hint of cinnamon, all coated in a crispy fried shell.
Ingredients

- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 3 cups oil for frying
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and vanilla. Heat over medium heat until thickened.
- Pour the mixture into a greased dish and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Once set, cut the milk mixture into squares.
- Coat each square in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and then roll in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the squares until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding nutmeg or lemon zest to the milk mixture.
- Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar on top.
