Description

A delicious and crunchy sunflower seed brittle, perfect for a sweet treat or a snack.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda


Instructions

  1. Grease a baking sheet and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once boiling, continue to cook without stirring until the mixture reaches a deep amber color.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in butter, sunflower seeds, and baking soda.
  5. Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  6. Let cool completely and break into pieces.

  • Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
  • For a variation, add vanilla extract or other nuts.
