Description

Delicious and tender Swedish veal patties served with a creamy sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground veal
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground veal, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  2. Form the mixture into patties.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and cook the patties until browned on both sides.
  4. Remove the patties and set aside.
  5. Add beef broth to the skillet and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in sour cream and return patties to the skillet.
  7. Simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. Serve hot with potatoes or bread.

Notes

  • These patties can be frozen for later use.
  • Serve with lingonberry sauce for a traditional touch.
