Ingredients

- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons red chili flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Combine sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until dissolved.
- Once the sugar mixture is boiling, stir in the cornstarch mixture.
- Add minced garlic, red chili flakes, and salt.
- Stir continuously until thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool before serving.

- Perfect as a dipping sauce for appetizers.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month.
