- 2 pounds potatoes
- 8 ounces lardons or bacon
- 1 onion, sliced
- 8 ounces Reblochon cheese, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Peel and slice the potatoes, then boil them in salted water until tender.
- In a skillet, cook the lardons or bacon until crispy, then add the sliced onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Layer half of the potatoes in a baking dish, followed by half of the bacon and onion mixture, then half of the cheese.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining potatoes, bacon mixture, and cheese.
- Pour the heavy cream over the top and season with black pepper and salt.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
Notes
- For a more authentic taste, use authentic Reblochon cheese.
- This dish pairs well with a simple green salad.
- It is best enjoyed hot out of the oven.
