A delicious fusion of Korean tteokbokki and classic mac and cheese.
Ingredients

- 8 ounces rice cakes (tteok)
- 2 cups macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, stir in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
- Add milk gradually while whisking until thickened.
- Stir in cheese, gochujang, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Add cooked macaroni and rice cakes to the cheese sauce; stir to combine.
- Transfer mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
Notes
- For extra spice, add more gochujang.
- Top with additional cheese before baking for a cheesy crust.
